Taxi at Night in Cluj-Napoca: Rates, Availability and Booking

Cluj-Napoca is a student city with a serious nightlife, an airport with flights landing after midnight, and a public transport network that stops long before either of those does. Here is how getting around at night actually works.

Is there a 24-hour taxi service in Cluj?

Yes. We operate around the clock, including weekends and public holidays. Availability is not the issue — the issue is the gap between demand and supply at certain hours.

The pressure points are predictable: Friday and Saturday between 02:00 and 04:00, the nights of major festivals, and the periods just after late flights land. At those moments, a ride booked in advance is worth a great deal more than one you start looking for when you need it.

The night rate

The night rate applies between 22:00 and 06:00 and is 4.75 lei/km, against 4.05 lei/km during the day — around 17% more. On the taximeter it shows as T2.

For intercity transfers booked in advance, the price is fixed when you book, and we do not apply a night surcharge. A transfer to the airport at 4am costs the same as at 4pm.

Example prices at night

• City centre to the airport (~9 km): roughly 45–50 lei
• Centre to Manastur (~5 km): the minimum fare applies on short rides
• Centre to Floresti (~12 km): roughly 60–65 lei
• Short ride within the centre (~3 km): minimum fare

A minimum fare of 50 lei applies per ride within the city, regardless of distance — worth knowing before you book a two-kilometre trip.

How to book a taxi at night

Use the online booking form. It works at any hour, gives you an instant price estimate and does not require an app or an account. You will be contacted to confirm within minutes.

If you know in the evening that you will need a ride at 2am, book it in the evening. It costs the same and removes the problem entirely.

Why not just flag one down

• At peak hours there simply are not enough cars. Everyone leaves the same venues at the same time.
• The price is known in advance with a booking, rather than discovered at the end
• Unlicensed cars appear at night, particularly around the station and the club district
• You get a specific driver at a specific place, instead of standing on a pavement

Late flights

A significant share of our night work is airport arrivals. If your flight lands at 00:30, send us the flight number when booking: we track the actual landing time, wait if you are delayed, and meet you in the arrivals hall. There is no extra charge for the hour.
