How to Get from Cluj Airport to the City Centre – Complete 2026 Guide

Just landed at Avram Iancu International Airport in Cluj-Napoca and not sure of the best way to get to the city centre or your hotel? Here is a practical guide to all the options available.

Distance and journey time from the airport to the centre

Cluj Airport is located roughly 8–9 km east of the city centre. In normal traffic, the drive takes 15–25 minutes. During rush hour (07:00–09:00, 16:00–19:00), it can stretch to 35–40 minutes.

Option 1: Private transfer (pre-booked taxi)

The most comfortable and reliable option. Your driver waits for you at the terminal exit, holding a sign with your name (on request), even if your flight is delayed.

Option 3: Taxi from the taxi rank outside the terminal
