Cluj-Napoca to Baia Mare Transfer: Complete Guide and Prices

Distance and driving time

Around 160 km, covered in 1h45 to 2h15. The route follows the DN1C through Apahida, Gherla and Dej, then continues north.

This is hill country with plenty of bends and villages, so average speeds are lower than on motorway routes. Passengers prone to travel sickness should ask for the front seat. In winter the northern section can be slow after snowfall.

Families meeting relatives at the airport are a common case on this route, and often there are more than four of them. The 17-seat minibus is noticeably cheaper than two or three cars.
