Rohia Monastery stands in the Lapus region, on a wooded hill around 120 km from Cluj — 2 to 2 hours 30 minutes of driving on the DN1C through Dej and onwards towards Targu Lapus. It is closely associated with the memory of Nicolae Steinhardt, the writer and monk who lived and is buried there; the monastery library bears his name.
