School Trips and Pilgrimages by Minibus from Cluj

Two very different kinds of group, one shared requirement: a licensed vehicle, a professional driver and a schedule that bends to the group rather than the other way round.

School trips

For a class or a year group, the practical concerns are the same everywhere: the vehicle must be properly authorised for passenger transport, the driver licensed and experienced, and the timing has to work around a school day.

What we do:

• Collect from and return to the school, not a meeting point somewhere else
• Agree the full schedule in advance, with realistic driving times between stops
• Wait at each destination for as long as the visit takes — waiting is included in the package price, not charged by the hour
• Provide an invoice for the school or the parents association

Destinations that come up most often: the Turda salt mine, Alba Iulia and its citadel, Turda Gorge for a walking day, and Sighisoara for a longer trip.

Pilgrimages to monasteries

Parish and association groups typically number between ten and seventeen — exactly one minibus. The routes are well established:

• Nicula Monastery — 45 km, one of the largest pilgrimage sites in Transylvania, with enormous numbers on 15 August. Access near the monastery is restricted on that day, and booking well in advance is essential.
• Rohia Monastery — 120 km, in the Lapus region, associated with Nicolae Steinhardt
• Barsana Monastery — 215 km, the wooden complex in the Iza Valley, usually part of a longer Maramures circuit
• The Bucovina monasteries — Voronet, Humor, Moldovita, on a two or three day trip

For multi-day pilgrimages we quote a package covering the whole itinerary, with the driver available throughout.

What it costs

The indicative rate is from 15 lei/km per minibus up to 300 km, 14 lei/km beyond, minimum 100 lei per journey. For a group of fifteen the cost per person is small, and for organised trips we quote a fixed package for the whole day rather than per kilometre.
