From the airport to the slopes
Arieseni is the best known ski resort in the Apuseni Mountains, with a long season and guesthouses scattered along the valley. From Cluj Airport it is around 140 km, covered in 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours. The route runs through Turda and Campeni, along the Aries Valley, then climbs towards Garda de Sus and Arieseni.
Road conditions
The last third of the route is mountain road, narrow in places and full of bends. In winter we drive on winter tyres at reduced speed, and after heavy snowfall the journey can take 30–45 minutes longer. Our estimate allows for this, but on days with snow warnings we recommend leaving as early as possible.
