At 690 km we do not recommend travelling on the same day as your flight unless departure is late in the evening. The safe option is leaving Cluj the evening before, arriving in Vienna at night and staying near the airport, or leaving in the early hours for an afternoon flight. We make two or three stops along the way; they are included in the price and in the time estimate.
The route
We take the DN1 towards Oradea and cross the border at Bors, then motorway to Budapest, the M0 ring road and onwards on the M1 towards Gyor and Hegyeshalom. After the Austrian border the motorway runs straight to Schwechat. Most of the drive after Oradea is on motorway, which makes the timing fairly predictable.
