The mountain lake of Transylvania
Colibita is a reservoir in the Calimani Mountains, ringed by fir forest and known for its clean air and quiet. From Cluj Airport it is around 137 km, covered in 2 hours 15 minutes to 2 hours 45 minutes, on the DN1C through Gherla and Dej, then through Bistrita and up the road to the lake.

Colibita has no convenient public transport link. Without a car it means a coach to Bistrita and then an infrequent local service that does not line up with flight times. For a visitor landing in the evening, a direct transfer is the only realistic option.
