The Padis plateau
Padis is the karst plateau at the heart of the Apuseni Mountains, the starting point for the most spectacular trails in the range. From Cluj it is around 130 km, covered in 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours 15 minutes, through Huedin and up the mountain roads to the plateau.

Road and communications
The road to the plateau is mountain road with sections in variable condition; after heavy rain some stretches become difficult. Phone signal is weak or absent on the plateau, which has one important practical consequence: agree the time and place for the return before you set off, because you may not be able to call us from up there.
Equipment
